What is a Twitter Party?
If you’ve spent any time on Twitter then you’ve probably started wondering what all the hashtags ( # ) conversations are about. In short a Twitter Party is a group conversation held using the Twitter platform. All of the attendees/participants can participate and find each other through the use of the party’s special hashtag name, regardless if they follow one another.
Why should I join in on a Twitter Party?
Twitter parties are great ways to connect with like minded individuals. It’s basically a party online and gives you an opportunity to meet new people and possibly win some fun prizes too. Plus it’s free, you don’t have to get dressed up, and no one cares if you’re wearing your PJ’s!
How do I find Twitter Parties to participate in?
Twitter Parties generally have a host in addition to a sponsor. Both the host and sponsor promote the parties via Twitter. However you can also look for Twitter Party Calendars at: Twitter Party Guide, Kelly’s Lucky you, Resourceful Mommy, and Tweeparties.
What Twitter Aggregators are best for following a Twitter Party?
Tweet Chat is great for newbies because of it’s simple format (1 grid).
Tweet Grid is probably the most popular because it allows you to follow/participate in multiple parties at once.
Twubs offers Live Tweet Feed which pulls in external images, videos and links for a single Twitter Party
TweetDeck users can also add a column to their deck using the parties hashtag. This can be deleted after the party.
